Rifaat Torbey is a Lebanese stage actor famous for his complex and diverse roles. A graduate of the Beirut School of Modern Theatre, he has worked with major theatre figures in Lebanon, the Arab world and beyond. He is one of the most famous Lebanese actors to play Shakespearean roles. He has worked in cinema and has invested himself in dozens of poetry recitals, especially for poets from Shaar magazine. He has always been interested in the fine arts of drawing and sculpture Since the coronavirus pandemic, he has been focusing on sculpture, using wood as his main media. ‘Theatre as an art belongs to actors. It is an indicator of the level of civilization of all people and societies.
